Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2025

1. Not a Law Firm

AssetsandTrust is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our software provides self-help document services at your specific direction. Our products are not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. No attorney-client relationship is created. We do not review your answers for legal sufficiency or apply the law to your particular situation. We strongly recommend having a licensed attorney in your state review any document before signing.

2. What AssetsandTrust Provides

AssetsandTrust is a self-guided software platform that helps families organize information, understand common trust and estate-planning concepts, prepare an attorney-ready packet, and — where available — generate self-help documents at your specific direction from standardized templates. The platform does not review your answers for legal sufficiency, does not apply the law to your particular situation, does not negotiate on your behalf, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. The platform never generates deeds or any instrument affecting real property title; transferring real estate into a trust requires a deed prepared by a licensed attorney.

3. Account & Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, current information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account.

4. Purchase, Payment, and Payment Plans

AssetsandTrust offers two one-time purchases: The Basic Trust at $197 and The Complete Legacy at $497. Basic Trust owners may upgrade to The Complete Legacy for the $300 difference. There is no subscription billing. All payments are processed by Stripe.

5. Refunds

Please see the Refund Policy for full details.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to (a) resell or redistribute AssetsandTrust content, (b) reverse-engineer or scrape the platform, (c) use the platform to provide legal services to third parties, or (d) use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

7. Third-Party Attorneys

The Attorney Discovery feature links to publicly available third-party resources. AssetsandTrust does not employ, supervise, endorse, or guarantee any attorney. Users are solely responsible for selecting and verifying their own legal counsel.

8. Intellectual Property

All software, content, generated packets, and Knowledge Cards are the intellectual property of AssetsandTrust™ and licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use in preparing your own family plan.

9. Limitation of Liability

AssetsandTrust is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, AssetsandTrust and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the platform. In no event will total liability exceed the amount you paid for the platform in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
